Mi instan adalah salah satu makanan paling favorit di dunia, tak terkecuali di Indonesia.

Di dunia, Indonesia bersama Cina, Jepang, dan Thailand jadi negara dengan konsumsi mi instan terbesar di dunia.

Akan tetapi, meski rasanya enak dan murah, ada alasan mengapa mi instan sebaiknya tak dikonsumsi tiap hari.

 

Dilansir Skor.id dari VOI, berikut ini empat alasan mengapa sebaiknya tak makan mi instan tiap hari:

1. Rendah Fiber dan Protein

Satu porsi mi instan mengandung 188 kalori. Memakan mi instan bisa membantu menurunkan berat badan, tetapi karena rendah fiber dan protein, ini bukan pilihan bagus sebagai makanan utama.

Fiber dan protein diperlukan tubuh agar tak merasa lapar, artinya mengonsumsi mi instan kemungkinan tak akan bisa menghilangkan rasa lapar.

2. Tinggi MSG

Kebanyakan mi instan mengandung monosodium glutamate (MSG), bahan yang digunakan untuk membuat rasa semakin enak.

Ada beberapa studi menunjukkan MSG berkaitan dengan penambahan berat badan, tekanan darah, sakit kepala, dan mual, meski memang aman dikonsumsi jika tak terlalu banyak.

3. Menaikkan Risiko Penyakit Jantung

Penelitian dari Journal of Nutrition menemukan bahwa orang yang makan lebih banyak mi instan punya risiko lebih tinggi untuk mendapatkan beberapa penyakit.

Beberapa penyakit itu termasuk gejala tekanan darah tinggi, penyakit jantung, diabetes, hingga stroke.

4. Mengandung Banyak Garam

Banyaknya garam di dalam mi instan bisa mempengaruhi kesehatan, jika dikonsumsi terlalu seraing.

Penelitian dari American Journal of Hypertension mengatakan bahwa garam tinggi adalah salah satu faktor meningkatnya angka kematian.
