Salah satu alasan utama mengapa banyak orang memutuskan untuk meninggalkan diet adalah kesulitan menahan rasa lapar.

Namun dilansir dari Mundo Deportivo, ada satu makanan yang memiliki efek lebih mengenyangkan ketimbang makanan lain.

Makanan yang dimaksud adalah kentang rebus. Menurut penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Healthy Eating Foundation menyebut jika komposisi dan nutrisi kentang rebus bisa memberi efek kenyang yang baik.

Klaim tersebut didasarkan pada penelitian ilmiah yang dilakukan pada tahun 1995. 

Pada penelitian itu disebutkan bahwa makanan yang paling bisa menekan rasa lapar adalah kentang, terutama kentang yang direbus atau dimasak.

Penelitian menyoroti bahwa kentang rebus tujuh kali kali memuaskan daripada mengonsumsi kalori yang sama dalam bentuk croissant, roti, atau kue. 

Sementara kentang goreng hanya memiliki kemampuan untuk menekan setengah rasa lapar daripada apa yang bisa dilakukan oleh kentang rebus.

Studi yang sama menunjukkan bahwa ada makanan lain yang tinggi karbohidrat yang juga memberikan rasa kenyang yang besar, seperti biji-bijian di atas sereal putih atau sereal olahan.

Secara khusus, 11 makanan yang memberi efek kenyang lebih lama versi Healthy Food Foundation adalah: kentang matang; sumber protein seperti ikaan, fillet daging, telur dan beberapa kacang-kacangan seperti kacang-kacangan atau biji-bijian
