Kenali Manfaat Vitamin D yang Jadi Pro Kontra Bisa Mengobati Covid-19

SKOR.id - Vitamin D yang disebut-sebut dapat mengurangi risiko terpapar Covid-19 masih menjadi pro kontra.

Beberapa studi mengatakan bahwa asupan vitamin D yang cukup dapat menurunkan risiko terinfeksi virus Corona karena manfaatnya yang dapat menjaga daya tahan tubuh.

Bahkan, pasien yang sudah terpapar pun gejalanya cenderung lebih ringan dibandingkan pasien yang kekurangan vitamin D.

Sebuah studi juga mengatakan bahwa orang dengan asupan vitamin D rendah memiliki peluang 7,2 persen lebih tinggi untuk terjangkit virus tersebut.

 

Tim peneliti Universitas Northwestern pernah meneliti hubungan antara kekurangan vitamin D dengan infeksi Covid-19.

Mereka menyatakan pasien dari negara-negara dengan tingkat kematian Covid-19 yang tinggi diketahui memiliki kadar vitamin D yang rendah.

Akan tetapi, para peneliti tersebut memberikan catatan bahwa mereka perlu melakukan penelitian lebih lanjut karena perbedaan kualitas perawatan kesehatan, tingkat tes, usia populasi, atau jenis virus yang berbeda di setiap negara.

Profesor Zubairi Djoerban dilansir dari laman Tempo mengatakan bahwa belum cukup data untuk menyebut vitamin D dapat mencegah terpapar Covid-19.

"Intinya, belum cukup data untuk bisa mengatakan vitamin D dapat mencegah seseorang terinfeksi Covid-19," ujar Profesor Zubairi Djoerban.

Vitamin D sendiri memiliki cukup banyak manfaat seperti, memperkuat tulang, memperkuat otot, menjaga daya tahan tubuh, menjaga kesehatan mulut, serta mencegah diabetes tipe 1 dan 2.

Selain itu, vitamin D juga diketahui dapat mengatasi hipertensi, membantu menurunkan berat badan, mengurangi risiko kanker, serta menjaga kesehatan ibu hamil dan anak.
