Ducati Paling Terdampak Aturan Pembekuan Mesin dan Aerodinamika

SKOR.id – Mission Winnow Ducati merasa paling dirugikan dengan aturan pembekuan mesin dan perangkat aerodinamika pada MotoGP hingga 2021.

Orang-orang penting di dalam tim merasa tak bisa menyalurkan ide untuk membuat Desmosedici, motor mereka, punya kinerja yang lebih baik.

Ducati memang dikenal sebagai tim yang paling rajin melakukan eksperimen pada motor. Tak jarang hal tersebut diikuti oleh tim-tim MotoGP yang lain. 

Seperti "sayap" kecil di bagian fairing yang dilakukan Ducati pada 2012. Awalnya, mereka dianggap terlalu berlebihan dan merusak estetika motor.

Padahal, sayap kecil itu bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan downforce agar bagian depan motor tak terangkat saat pembalap melakukan akselerasi awal.

Akhirnya, seluruh tim pabrikan yang saat ini mengikuti langkah Ducati dalam membuat bagian depan motor lebih mudah untuk dikendalikan.

Terbaru, mereka memperkenalkan holeshot device yang berfungsi membuat motor lebih dekat dengan pusat gravitasi agar start lebih baik.

Yamaha jadi tim pertama yang mengikuti jejak Ducati dengan menempatkan holeshot device dengan knob putar tepat di sisi kiri tangki bahan bakar.

Direktur Teknis Ducati Davide Barana mengaku, timnya paling terdampak dengan aturan pembekuan mesin dan aerodinamika, saat ini.

“Apakah kami paling terdampak aturan pembekuan? Benar, ini sangat sulit bagi kami. Ducati terbukti jadi produsen paling inovatif di MotoGP.”

Aturan pembekuan diberlakukan Dorna untuk menstabilkan keuangan seluruh tim yang sedang goyah akibat pandemi virus corona (Covid-19).

Kebijakan ini bertujuan agar inovasi yang dilakukan tim, tak sia-sia hingga memperburuk keuangan mereka karena penangguhan MotoGP 2020. 

“Kami adalah orang-orang yang penuh inovasi, semua tahu itu. Pembatasan anggaran juga makin menyulitkan kami,” kata Kepala Elektrikal Ducati, Gabriele Conti.

“Pertama-tama, kami harus menguji segalanya. Tapi, kami hanya memiliki satu kesempatan untuk melakukannya di trek.”

Tapi, aturan pembekuan mesin tak membuat Ducati berdiam diri. Mereka terus membenahi bagian-bagian yang tak terdampak aturan tersebut.

“Bagian-bagian dari ban depan dan belakang motor tidak terdampak aturan pembekuan,” ujar Kepala Aerodinamuka Ducati, Edoardo Lenoci.
