Mengenal Glossophobia dan Cara Efektif untuk Mengatasinya

Kondisi tersebut seiring diasosiasikan dengan demam panggung walaupun si penderita tidak melulu sedang mempersiapkan diri untuk pentas atau tampil di atas panggung.

Meski bukan gangguan mental yang berbahaya, glossophobia akan mengganggu kehidupan sehari-hari jika tidak dikelola dengan baik.

Pasalnya, penderita fobia ini cenderung berbicara terbata-bata hingga gagap jika harus tampil di hadapan banyak orang.

Dilansir dari Alodokter.com, penderita demam panggung mencapai 75 persen dari seluruh manusia di dunia.

Penyebab glossophobia hingga saat ini masih belum diketahui tetapi seseorang dengan trauma masa lalu memiliki kecenderungan mengalami kondisi tersebut.

 

Gejala glossophobia setiap orang berbeda-beda, ada yang berupa gemetaran, keringat dingin, dan jantung berdebar.

Ada pula yang mual, muntah, pusing, sesak napas, otot tegang, juga lebih sering buang air kecil.

Demam panggung dapat dikurangi dengan cara mempersiapkan diri dengan matang sebelum tampil di depan publik.

Misalnya, latihan berbicara di depan cermin ketika mempersiapkan diri untuk presentasi atau pidato.

Namun, jika kondisi makin memburuk maka pertolongan dari profesional seperti psikoterapis menjadi opsi yang sangat dianjurkan.

Psikoterapis akan memberi perlakuan tertentu untuk menenangkan diri pasien seperti teknik relaksasi atau bimbingan lain untuk menemukan sumber kecemasan.

Jika penderita glossophobia juga mengalami gangguan mental lain, maka dokter atau psikiater akan memberi resep obat penenang atau obat-obatan lain untuk mengatasinya.
