Kenali Beragam Nutrisi dan Manfaat dari Bok Choy

Bok choy atau yang lebih dikenal dengan sebutan sawi sendok merupakan sayur yang sering dijadikan bahan untuk masakan.

Sama seperi sayur-sayur lainnya, bok choy juga memiliki beragam nutrisi yang dibutuhkan tubuh.

Dilansir dari laman Mejor Con Salud, bok choy mengandung kalori, karbohidrat, protein, dan serat.

Selain itu, di dalam bok choy juga terkandung kalsium, magnesium, zat besi, serta beberapa vitamin seperti A,C, dan K.

Bok choy pun dapat memberikan sejumlah manfaat bagi tubuh berkat nutrisi-nutrisi tersebut seperti berikut ini:

 

1. Memelihara Kesehatan Jantung

Mencegah penyakit jantung adalah manfaat utama dari berbagai macam sayur dan buah termasuk bok choy.

2. Mencegah Radikal Bebas

Bok choy mengandung banyak antioksidan seperti vitamin C yang bermanfaat untuk melindungi tubuh dari serangan radikal bebas.

3. Mencegah Peradangan

Bok choy juga dapat memberikan efek antiinflamasi atau mencegah terjadinya peradangan di dalam tubuh.

Contoh-contoh penyakit yang termasuk dalam peradangan di antaranya adalah alzheimer, aterosklerosis, dan radang sendi.

4. Mencegah Kanker

Dalam beberapa dekade terakhir, banyak penelitian yang menunjukkan bahwa tingkat konsumsi fitokimia dapat mengurangi risiko terkena kanker.

Secara khusus, mengonsumsi brokoli dan sayuran sejenisnya termasuk bok choy dapat menurunkan risiko kanker paru-paru, payudara, prostat dan usus besar. Hal ini dikarenakan adanya kandungan glukosinolat.

5. Membantu Pertumbuhan Tulang

Kandungan kalsium, magnesium, dan fosfor di dalam bok choy berperan aktif dalam pertumbuhan tulang.
