Fungsi Tombol-tombol yang Ada di Motor MotoGP

  • Ada beberapa tombol yang terpasang di dekat kendali motor yang memiliki fungsi berbeda-beda.
  • Dalam menekan tombol, pembalap juga harus bisa merasakan kondisi motor maupun lintasan.

SKOR.id - Motor balap MotoGP dibekali oleh sebuah teknologi yang sangat canggih.

Hal ini tentu membuat para pembalap lebih aman dalam memacu kuda besi. Apalagi motor yang mereka tunggangi memiliki power sangat besar.

Sementara itu, motor maupun kondisi lintasan seringkali mengalami banyak perubahan selama balapan berlangsung.

Agar para pembalap lebih mudah melakukan penyesuaian, mereka bisa menekan beberapa tombol yang ada di dashboard motor tunggangannya.

Orang awam banyak yang menganggap tombol-tombol tersebut membuat motor lebih mudah dikendarai. Hal itu tak sepenuhnya salah.

Namun, dengan kecepatan lebih dari 300 km/jam, tentu tidak mudah bagi pembalap memutuskan menekan tombol yang mana saat lomba berlangsung.

Intinya, tombol itu membantu rider melakukan setting pada Electronic Control Unit (ECU) yang meliputi traction control, anti-wheelie, tenaga mesin, maupun sistem pengereman.

Traction Control

Traction Control berfungsi untuk mencegah ban selip secara berlebihan saat akselerasi. Jika pembalap membuka gas terlalu besar, ada kemungkinan motor tergelincir.

Di sinilah traction control masuk untuk menutup sedikit gas demi meminimalisasi kemungkinan motor tergelincir.

Tombol traction control juga kerap digunakan pembalap saat ban motor sulit mencengkram lintasan, misalnya saat hujan.

Engine Brake

Tombol engine Brake berfungsi menyesuaikan bukaan gas untuk menghasilkan respons gas yang lebih halus saat pengereman.

Penyetelan engine brake ini dapat menghemat bahan bakar, mengurangi keausan rem, serta mengatur ban belakang.

Setelah tombol ditekan, engine brake otomatis bekerja saat pembalap mengerem dan mengganti gigi.

Anti-Wheelie

Terangkatnya ban depan motor saat pembalap melakukan akeselerasi adalah pemandangan yang biasa saat balapan. Ini sangat terlihat dalam tayangan slow motion.

Itu merupakan konsekuensi dari besarnya torsi yang dihasilkan oleh motor-motor MotoGP.

Tombo Anti-Wheelie berfungsi meminimalisasi terangkatnya ban depan agar pembalap tak terjatuh saat akselerasi.

Pengaturan Gas

Tombol ini akan mengatur seberapa besar power yang dihasilkan motor saat pembalap membetot gas.

Untuk level konservatif, seberapa pun pembalap membuka gas maka ECU akan membatasi bukaan throttle.

Sedangkan saat level agresif, throttle akan lebih terbuka sehingga power yang dihasilkan motor lebih besar.

Namun, pembalap harus hati-hati memainkan tombol ini. Sebab, mereka harus memperhitungkan kondisi motor dan lintasan.
