Belakangan ini, diet keto menjadi salah satu metode diet yang digemari oleh banyak orang. 

Diet keto adalah pengaturan pola makan dengan asupan karbohidrat yang rendah, namun tinggi lemak.

Pada dasarnya, diet keto hampir sama dengan diet atkins, diet DEBM, dan diet rendah karbohidrat lain.

Diet ini dilakukan dengan mengurangi konsumsi karbohidrat, yaitu hanya sekitar 10 persen atau kurang dari 50 gram per hari, dan sisanya mengonsumsi protein atau lemak.

Meski demikian, ini bukan sembarang diet dan memiliki aturan yang harus diikuti agar berhasil.

Sebab ada banyak makanan yang dilarang ketika menjalani diet ini. Menariknya, makanan-manakan tersebut adalah candu yang biasanya kita makan.

Berikut ini adalah daftar makanan yang dilarang dalam diet keto:

  1. Sereal: Anda tidak boleh mengonsumsi sereal jenis apa pun, bahkan yang utuh.
  2. Biji-bijian dan Kacang-kacangan: Makanan seperti kacang polong, buncis, buncis, kedelai, lentil, atau kacang hijau tidak boleh dimasukkan.
  3. Sayuran bertepung dan umbi-umbian: jenis makanan ini biasanya mengandung banyak karbohidrat. Karena itu, konsumsinya harus dihindari selama diet keto .
  4. Buah-buahan: sejumlah kecil buah dengan indeks glikemik rendah dapat dikonsumsi . Namun, mangga, pisang, anggur, apel, persik, pir, nanas, dan pepaya harus dihilangkan dari makanan.
  5. Gula halus: termasuk dalam minuman cola, soda, pemanis buatan, gula, dan madu.
  6. Alkohol: banyak minuman keras mengandung gula tinggi. Karena itu, mereka tidak boleh dimasukkan dalam diet ketogenik. 
  7. Makanan ringan : banyak makanan yang tinggi pengawet dan meskipun tidak ada gula tebu, mungkin mengandung pemanis berbahaya lainnya.
