Resep Pembalap NASCAR demi Menjaga Kebugaran, Ditempa Renang hingga Bersepeda

NASCAR dilombakan di Amerika Serikat, menyajikan balapan mobil dengan jumlah lap yang banyak, rata-rata 200 lap.

Tuntutan fisik selama balapan membuat pembalap mesti siap siaga dalam kondisi puncak. Kombinasi panas mesin dan tarikan grativasi dari kecepatan mobil akan menimbulkan beban di kursi pembalap.

Skorer perlu ingat bahwa dalam balapan NASCAR, tidak ada jeda istirahat. Maka muncul pertanyaan di benak penggemar, bagaimana jagoannya berpacu di lintasan balap setiap akhir pekan?

Jimmie Johnson, salah satu pembalap NASCAR ternama yang menyabet tujuh gelar juara, turut membagikan latihan rutin di luar waktu balapan.

Dikutip dari wawancaranya dengan Sport Casting, Jimmie membeberkan porsi latihannya.

Senin : Lari ringan selama 45 menit dan latihan kekuatan singkat berupa squat thrust dengan dumbel seberat 20 pon, push-up, dan bench tricep-dips. Latihan ditutup dengan bersepeda selama 75 menit.

Selasa : Berenang sejauh 3.000 yard, memadukan gaya dada dengan gaya bebas dalam beragam tempo, lalu bersepeda sejauh 30 mil dibagi menjadi tiga segmen dengan kecepatan tinggi setiap delapan menit.

Rabu : Jogging tujuh mil dimulai dengan 10 set pendakian 80 detik ke atas bukit, lalu jogging pemulihan untuk turun diikuti gerakan ringan.

Kamis : Dominan bersepeda dilanjutkan angkat beban dengan 20 repetisi.

Jum’at : Lari tiga mil dengan tempo ringan, lalu berenang 3.000 yard dan lari tiga mil lagi diakhiri dengan angkat beban.

Sabtu : Bersepeda sejauh 50 mil, mendaki perbukitan dan turun, lalu berlari santai selama 20 menit dilanjutkan push-up dan plank. (Adhitya Mahatravatama)
