Akan tetapi, permen kerap dinilai remeh oleh banyak orang. Bahkan, kerap dikaitkan dengan penyakit seperti karies gigi hingga diabetes.

Jika dikonsumsi berlebihan, permen memang bisa menjadi sumber penyakit. Namun, permen juga punya dampak positif ke kesehatan.

Makan permen bisa bikin ''hidup lebih lama''

Harvard School of Public Health mengeluarkan penelitian yang cukup kontroversial. Dalam risetnya, disebutkan bahwa "makan permen dipercaya dapat hidup lebih lama daripada tidak sama sekali."

Konsumsi satu hingga tiga permen satu hingga tiga permen sebulan punya manfaat kesehatan.

Bahkan, mereka yang memiliki kebiasaan menghisap permen sehari-hari dengan baik juga hidup lebih lama.

Permen adalah salah satu moodbooster terbaik

Menjaga mood kerap kali penting di kehidupan kita. Sehingga, diperlukan moodbooster yang ampuh untuk membuat mood tidak menurun.

Dikutip dari Live360, Makan permen dipercaya dapat menghilangkan mood buruk dan mengembalikan kemauan untuk mengerjakan sesuatu.

Permen cokelat mengurangi risiko penyakit jantung

Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orang yang rutin makan cokelat, hingga lima kali atau lebih dalam seminggu, lebih rendah kemungkinannya menderita penyakit jantung.

Namun, rekomendasi permen coklat yang skorer konsumsi adalah permen coklat rendah gula, biasa dari varian coklat hitam.

Permen karet berpengaruh ke kesehatan mental

Mengunyah satu permen karet, berdasarlan penelitian, dapat meningkatkan suasana hati Anda, mengurangi stres, meningkatkan fokus mental, dan bahkan menghalangi rasa sakit.

Mengunyah permen karet juga meningkatkan kadar hormon "bahagia", serotonin.

Permen kapas membantu terbentuknya pembuluh darah baru

Penelitian dari Universitas Cornell menyebut permen kapas dapat dicairkan untuk membuat pembuluh darah buatan.

Meski memerlukan penelitian lanjutan, namun hasil ini setidaknya mengungkap sisi positif dari menghisap permen.
